Data visualization

Our task was to create a visualization that deals with studying in Germany. We could do this either with a single illustration or with a coherent set of illustrations. The topic was to be elaborated with the help of data from the Federal Statistical Office - data on the subject area “higher education” and the BMBF data portal - data internationally and by federal state, type of higher education institution and residence and on foreign students. Our aim with the project was, on the one hand, to highlight relevant aspects and contexts of studying in Germany and, on the other hand, to open up interesting perspectives on the subject area. The analysis should not be too superficial, but should go deeper. The workflow of our data visualization is based on the design process according to Andy Kirk.
